    @OfficalAlaina that’s how it’s gonna make the milk.. if it doesn’t eat it then there won’t be any milk for the baby to drink.

    @emeraldruid Yes it is astonishing! I will never eat baby orangutan again! jk, but yea omg, I don’t know if it is just instincts or emotions, but it seems like the mother loves the baby a lot.

    @limdaf – We’re not already “ready”. We are cleaned off by the nurses with cloths(: In this case there is no cloth, and even if there were mum wouldn’t use it. She needs all that nutrients back in her body, hence the eating off the body fluids and mucus.

    @furaha35 It’s because we adopted a different pelvis when we become upright walkers. Although our pelvis allows us to walk upright successfully it also makes childbirth more painful than other animals. Bit of a bummer I know haha :)
